Cobalt blue decorated stoneware churn, attributed to J. H. Miller, a potter who previously worked at the family enterprise in Strasburg, Virginia who later moved to Harrison County, Indiana and operated across the river in Brandenburg, Ky from 1840-1884. The churn is unmarked, stamped 3 on top, and includes wood dasher and lid. Provenance: Seller previously purchased at auction in Elizabeth IN nearly 38 years ago and at that time the heirs said "Granny always said it came from Mauckport, IN".
