Late 1800's original oil on canvas landscape in original frame attributed to Joseph Krementz, no signature, marked 80 in the lower right-hand corner. Joseph Krementz (1840-1928) was born in Germany coming to the United States in 1851 and lived in New Albany, IN and Louisville, KY. A member of The Wonderland Way Art Club, Krementz was an accomplished portrait, landscape artist and photographer who exhibited with James L. Russell and Speed Museum. The painting in the opinion of local art authorities Kathy Russell Smith, granddaughter of James L. Russell, and her husband Don Smith is attributed to Krementz.
